Dear BootsGeek readers!
My name is Bill Rider, and I am the author of all articles presented on this website. I am glad if my articles helped you pick the pair of shoes for hunting, fishing or trekking that is just right for you. I like sharing my experiences with my readers .
I have now been hunting, trekking and hiking for 14 years. For the most part, I travel in my home state of Minnesota, which is abundant with exciting places that are a must-see. If you are planning to visit us for the weekend, then I recommend the following locations for a successful hunting experience:
- Itasca State Park
- Milaca
- The Chippewa National Forest
This place is great for hunting deer – I usually do deer hunting in Minnesota. I also take a lot of trips around North Dakota and Wisconsin.
During all these years, I have gone through more than a dozen pairs of shoes. I wore cheap synthetic Chinese shoes for $80, as well as rather expensive footwear from Lowa Tiber GTX for $300. I felt on my own two feet the difference between the high-quality Vibram sole and just a sole made of rubber. Many times my feet got wet in GORE-TEX shoes that are advertised as footwear that never gets wet. Three times I was saved by boots with protection against snake bites. I’ll be damned if I don’t know a thing or two about trekking and hunting shoes. Therefore, I started my own blog where I write reviews on footwear from different manufacturers. I purchased and wore most of these models myself, and some of the products reviewed here were used by my close friends, whose opinion I trust.
